Today, Sept. 18, marks the beginning of the Health Nurse Healthy Nation 10 Days of Safety Challenge, in which nurses who sign up will receive daily actionable tips to keep them mindful of ways to prevent injury in the workplace and how to best incorporate SPHM standards into daily practice.

Nurses suffer from more work-related injuries than most other professions. In fact, we experience five times the risk of injuries due to overexertion compared to the general population. Not only do work-related injuries cause pain for nurses, they may also limit daily activities and cause strain at work and at home – including work tasks, chores, and playing with children and family.

Join the 10-day challenge on safe patient handling and mobility to receive daily actionable tips to improve patient safety and reduce your own chance of injury. Challenge a nurse you know to do it with you!

Together we can work towards keeping ourselves safer as we work. To join the challenge, click "Yes" under "Ready to Join?" on the upper-right side of the 10 Days of Safety website.
