WSNA members stand up for issues impacting their patients
This story appears in the November 2025 edition of The Washington Nurse.
WSNA members rallied in support of healthcare access, labor rights, and the communities we care for at Oct. 18 “No Kings” demonstrations, which were held nationwide.
“I am proud to stand up for the issues that impact our practice and the social determinants of health today,” said WSNA President Justin Gill, who joined other WSNA members at the Seattle event.
The rallies were held against a backdrop of severe cuts to Medicaid, changes at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services that threaten access to sound data and guidance, and soaring rates for health insurance. All these issues threaten patients’ access and nurses’ ability to care for them.
Additionally, the current administration’s near-elimination of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service and employer-rights agenda for the National Labor Relations Board jeopardize our members’ collective bargaining rights.
As a nonpartisan organization, WSNA continues to speak up on issues that impact nurses, patients, and our members’ rights.
