The Washington State Nurses Foundation (WSNF) welcomes scholarship applications for the 2026-2027 school year!

Applicants must be enrolled in or accepted to a nationally accredited (by CCNE, CNEA, or ACEN) program leading to an associate, baccalaureate, or graduate degree in nursing. They must also be Washington state residents or enrolled in or accepted to an eligible nursing program located in Washington state.

Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in pre-requisite and completed nursing courses. They also need to submit one professional letter of recommendation and a transcript (unofficial transcripts are allowed). RN-licensed applicants furthering their education must also be WSNA members in good standing.

Scholarship awards vary in amounts, but the minimum scholarship award is $2000.

Applicants living within the boundaries of the Central Washington Region Nurses Association (Kittitas and Yakima counties), and the Inland Empire Nurses Association (Adams, Lincoln, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, and Whitman counties) are eligible for additional regional scholarships combined with a WSNF scholarship. Applicants need only complete the WSNF scholarship application to be eligible for these additional scholarships. The minimum amount of these regional scholarships is $2,000.

Awardees will be selected by the WSNF Scholarship Committee. Scholarships will be awarded based on academic performance, demonstrated leadership, advocacy, professional activities, commitment to WSNA, and work, school, and community involvement.

The application deadline is Feb. 7, 2026. Applicants should read the full application carefully; incomplete applications are not considered. Awardees will be notified by April 30, 2026, with checks disbursed to the recipient’s school in June for the 2026-2027 school year.
