Negotiation update

On Tuesday, May 28, your WSNA team of registered nurses met with Evergreen Administrators and Management for our 15th bargaining session. This was the 3rd session that included the assistance of a Federal Mediator.

In fact, we bargained for 14 hours straight! We made further progress, but there is still work to be done on several important issues. Here are a few such issues:

  • We spent much of the day (and night) working hard to ensure that nurses will receive a competitive wage package that takes into account the time spent negotiating this contract.

  • We have also stressed to Management the importance of having meaningful, substantive staffing language and more voice in staffing decisions. While we have made progress, Management needs to do more so that there is proper staffing.

  • We continue to propose language that would help ensure that we have effective measures in place to protect nurses from workplace violence.

Be sure to show up on Thursday, June 6, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. for an Ice Cream Social that is being hosted by your WSNA negotiations team in the Red Auditorium 1551.

Your team is scheduled to meet with Administration for our next Mediation session on Friday, June 7.

United we bargain, divided we beg!
