Quick news you can use

Wenatchee Valley Hospital (Confluence Health – Mares Campus) joins WSNA

On July 19, 2023, the overwhelming majority of nurses within Wenatchee Valley Hospital voted to unionize. Over 70 nurses took time out of their day to vote. We are happy to welcome them to WSNA and look forward to a continued march of union strong nurses.

FAQ:
Q: Does this mean we now have to float?
A: NO! Your contract does not contain any cross facility floating. Any floating language must be bargained and ratified (voted on) by the bargaining unit.

Q: Does this mean WVH nurses will float to us?
A: NO! Confluence cannot cross facility float until language is bargained and ratified.

We’re celebrating a big year!

This year marks the 50th anniversary of Central Washington Hospital nurses' decision to become represented by WSNA. In April of 1973 you won your union election and in December of 1973 your first contract was finalized and signed. We would like to thank Caryn Rumble for answering the call to lead planning efforts. If you love event planning, please let us know.

There are many ways to do great union work and to help your coworkers – we are planning a family friendly event and a gift for nurses – a Central Washington Hospital commemorative WSNA t-shirt marking 50 years of solidarity.

Updates – Arbitrations

The arbitration related to a grievance filed for nurses that were not accommodated in declining the COVID-19 vaccination is scheduled for October.

Nurse staffing committee

We have been informed the chief financial officer (CFO) will be in attendance for this meeting. As a reminder staffing is an open meeting, if you are not working you are welcome to attend. We highly encourage nurses who are passionate about staffing to attend. We would also like to thank Erin Schwartz for her dedication as co-chair of the nurse staffing committee as she has indicated she will be stepping down due to time constraints.
