Contract negotiations update - June 30, 2022

Dear Nurse Colleagues,

On June 28 and 29 our negotiation team met with management. Our team expressed how their proposals are out of touch with reality. Negotiations are at a standstill and we are reaching out to a mediator for future sessions. We anticipate next sessions will be held mid-August.

Here's what some of you may not know about management’s proposals:

  • Offered a wage increase of 1.5% -1.5% -1.5% over 3 years.
  • Refusing a wage scale with annual anniversary date steps.
  • Rejected optional paid administrative days to complete required patient checks and duties.
  • Rejected a pay-in-lieu of benefits differential for Per Diems.
  • Want to manipulate our schedule in time of need without mutual consent.
  • Rejected daily OT
  • Rejected our proposal for $1 per hour Professional Pay/Certification Pay.
  • Refuses to pay our negotiations team members for the time they spend at negotiations and the prep work that goes into it.

Here's how each of us can do our part:

  • Attend In-Person Union Meeting – Sunday July 17th at 2:00 PM
    • Rainier Olympic Nurses Association (RONA) office. 4115 Bridgeport Way West Suite F. University Place 98466.
    • Our contract depends on all of our participation. The meeting is scheduled on a Sunday because clinics are closed and more nurses can attend. Come to learn about where we are in negotiations and what we can do to push Fresenius to a fair contract that rewards our contributions. Pizza and beverages provided.
  • Wear “I support my Negotiations Team” stickers at work every day
  • Join Facebook Group – WSNA Fresenius RNs
