We have a ratified contract!
Posted Aug. 12, 2026
By an overwhelming majority, nurses at Good Sam have voted to approve our contract!
Here's what the timeline looks like for the expected implementation of our raises. We know that at Tacoma General, MultiCare continually tried to delay contract raises and premiums - so we will have to be vigilant about checking our paychecks and holding them accountable.
Contract Timeline Implementation:
August 12: All non-economic contract articles are in effect. This includes new language on self-scheduling, the Employee Voice/Respect committee, etc.
August 23: First full pay period after ratification. This is when our raise will be in effect. MultiCare claims they cannot process checks by August 23 but will provide backpay to this date.
September 26: Our Unfair Labor Practices bonus is paid out on this paycheck – 500 dollars, pro-rated by FTE (for this purpose, 0.9=1.0 and per diem=0.3)
October 9: This is the paycheck when the raise will be shown on your paycheck, in addition to backpay starting from August 23. Increases to premiums and differentials will also start at this date.
September 5: Last day to donate PTO to your bargaining team. MultiCare will accept the actual filled out form or photos of the filled out form as valid submissions. You can fill out a form online or send a picture of a completed form to Telmore@wsna.org
September 11: We will have bargaining dates for the Oncology Triage nurses that voted to join our Good Sam Union over the course of contract negotiations. We hope that MultiCare will quickly address these nurses by bringing them up to the correct pay scale and step.
February 1, 2027: Wage Increase for the second year of our contract is implemented (3.75%).
March 2027: CANMs are no longer able to be pre-scheduled for charge nurse shifts. Leading up to this date, MultiCare will be training bargaining unit nurses in the charge nurse role.

Solidarity with SEIU!
Our SEIU union siblings recently voted to authorize an open-ended strike. We stand with them and will support them on the picket line if they are unable to reach a fair contract with MultiCare! We’re encouraging people to wear purple on Thursdays in solidarity with SEIU, as well as continuing to wear your WSNA blue on Fridays!
In Solidarity, your WSNA Bargaining Team:
Co-Chair Savanah James, PCU; Treasurer Aaron Bradley, Palliative Care; Secretary Mindy Groven, PACU; Grievance Officer Emalie Hobi, ED; Jordan Goakey, Family Birth; Nicole Mandeville, ICU; Jennifer Hudson, ED; Jacqueline Dynes, ICU.
