Contract negotiations update

On Feb. 4, 2021 your contract negotiation team met with hospital management for the 2nd time. On Dec. 29, 2020 we had our 1st meeting with management and gave them our entire proposal. Despite more than a month to prepare, management came to the table not ready to provide their economic proposal and was ill-equipped to negotiate over the requests from the nurses, stating that they needed to consult with managers.

Our next meeting with hospital management is set for Feb. 11, 2021!

As some of you are aware, the hospital has prevented the WSNA Rep from entering the facility, using “COVID concerns” to justify this. WSNA made it clear that we expect our Nurse Rep to have access to members on premises and told the hospital that we would take all actions necessary to ensure the union rights were not interfered with.

We are working on scheduling a local unit meeting to discuss negotiations with you in the near future! Stay tuned for details!

In Solidarity, your negotiating team: - Jason Kindle, Ryan Housden, Kala Winter, Bunni Schave, Jennifer Reynolds, Jayme Garrison, Michelle Phillips, Kim Scott, Torie Andersen

Please contact Travis Elmore, WSNA Nurse Rep at telmore@WSNA.org or 206-575-7979 ext. 3117 with questions or to find out what you can do to get a fair contract!
