Negotiation update

We had our second negotiations session with Island Management on Nov. 30. Management presented us with their counter proposal but unfortunately that did not include any economic proposals. We pressed them about this and emphasized how critical the issue of wages and benefits are to each nurse at Island. They responded that they didn’t think they would be able to provide a wage proposal at our next session (which isn’t scheduled until December 21, 2020).

Your team also pressed management to provide us with additional dates for negotiations and expressed clearly that delays only hinder the negotiations process.

You can help us by letting your manager and/or HR representative know that you want management to come to the table on Dec. 21 with a proposal that includes an economics proposal that shows that Island respects its nurses. We believe that they have this information and should present us with a complete proposal that would include a fair wage proposal.

Stay tuned for further updates!
