WSNA Kadlec Post-Ratification Education Series – You're Invited!

The new WSNA contract includes some of the most significant improvements we've negotiated in years, but the work doesn't stop at ratification. Now it's time to ensure these provisions are fully implemented and that every nurse understands the new tools available to improve staffing, scheduling, breaks, and patient care.

Over the next six weeks, WSNA will be hosting a series of 90-minute interactive education sessions every Thursday, with two sessions each day (7:45 a.m. and 5 p.m.) to improve access for both day and night shift nurses.

Location: Columbia Room 1 (all sessions)

Each week's session will focus on a specific group of departments, but all bargaining unit nurses are welcome to attend any session if they are unable to attend their department's scheduled week.

Topics Include:

✅ Scheduling Workgroup authority and unit-specific scheduling rules
✅ Washington meal and rest break law
✅ Hospital Staffing Committee (HSC) authority and staffing plan review
✅ Understanding and using your unit staffing plan
✅ Assignment Despite Objection (ADO) documentation
✅ The new Break Compliance Review Memorandum of Agreement
✅ Contract enforcement and how nurses can help document staffing and break compliance
✅ Questions, discussion, and sharing best practices across departments

Whether you're a new nurse or have been at Kadlec for years, your participation matters. We hope you'll join us and help shape the future of staffing, scheduling, and patient care at Kadlec.
