As you may have heard, on Oct. 9, WSNA filed a workplace violence complaint with the Division of Occupational Safety & Health of the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries, regarding safety issues at KRMC. As a result of filing that claim, Tammy Garren, GSP, Safety Inspector with the Department of Labor and Industries, started an unannounced visit the following morning (Oct. 10). She is here to investigate the violations WSNA cited in the complaint.

While she is at the hospital, she will be accompanied by Christina Mackey and Nicole Searls. You have a right to request that they leave the room. You are protected by L&I against any retaliation. If you feel intimidated by asking upper management to leave the room, ask your WSNA Local Unit representatives to be present. On-site interviews are during work time. This will not be counted as your lunch or break.

Opportunity to speak with L&I inspector (without hospital management interference at an off-campus location)
