Pre-Negotiations Survey is Live
Past update Posted June 26, 2026 View latest update
The current interim contract between WSNA and Kindred Seattle-First Hill expires on December 31, 2026. This survey is a vital step in our preparation for contract negotiations. Your input is critical in determining nurses’ priorities as we head to the bargaining table. We cannot consider your issues and concerns unless we hear from you. All responses are confidential.

Please complete your survey by July 24 so we have time to review the results.
Hospital Staffing Committee Meeting - ADOs
Your WSNA union leaders meet monthly with Kindred hospital leadership to discuss staffing plans and staffing issues. The ADOs (Assignment Despite Objection Forms) which you submit are discussed. The team determines if the ADO is resolved or unresolved. If unresolved, a plan is put into place to try to resolve the issues. You may attend the staffing committee meeting to address your ADO if you would like, but it's not mandatory.
If staffing concerns are not reported, then we do not know the problems and therefore cannot work to resolve them. Please take just a few moments to fill out the ADO form online.
Fill out the section which asks how many RNs and CNAs are expected and how many are actually working, so we know if the staffing plan is being followed or not.
Let us know also when you are missing your meal and rest breaks on the ADO form. If break nurses are being pulled to take a patient assignment, we need to hear about it. When you have to double your assignment because you have to cover your nurse co-worker for a break, your unit is out of staffing compliance and you need to report this on the ADO.
When you do have a break nurse on duty, that break nurse is supposed to assume full care for your patients while you are away. Doing chart audits, which management assigns to break nurses, should absolutely not take priority over patient care.
Break nurses are provided so nurses can get their rest and meals without anyone having to double their assignment. Please do not ask your break nurse to cover two nurses at the same time, as that creates a double assignment for the break nurse, thus placing the unit out of staffing compliance.

Completing Your Documentation
It is our understanding that you have been asked by management to come in during your off-duty time to complete charting/documentation. If that is the case, it is IMPERATIVE that you clock in and out for the time you are working and accessing records. It is NOT an option to skip clocking in and out when working.
