Unfair Labor Practice

WSNA learned that managers had been circulating a document titled “KVH Commitment to Coworkers” (see links to pdfs below). A letter to Cease and Desist was sent to the employer.

By allowing the signing of this document, WSNA would be waving your rights.

HR has notified us that the managers have been instructed to remove the documents.

Under Washington's collective bargaining laws, specifically RCW 41.56.040, public employees have the right to organize and designate representatives of their choosing for purposes of collective bargaining or exercise other rights free from interference, restraint, coercion, or discrimination. Furthermore, RCW 41.56.140(1) states that it is an unfair labor practice for an employer to interfere with, restrain, or coerce public employees in the exercise of these rights.

It is important to contact an Officer or Laurie Robinson, Nurse Representative if you have questions or are seeing these types of demands of signage from the employer.

Staff Development Committee

Thursday, October 9 from 1:30-3 pm in Conference Rooms ABC

If you would like to attend and ensure that your unit is represented, please attend.

The countdown is 17 days; We are ready to bargain!

Our Bargaining Kick Off event was successful. Lots of nurses came by for a T-shirt, swag and treats. This was an excellent opportunity for discussion.

We have confirmed additional bargaining dates. On these dates, we ask that you t-shirt and button up to support the bargaining team.

Additional sized T-shirts will be available next week. Let an officer or Nurse Representative, Laurie Robinson, know that you need one!

Next, we want to encourage you to attend bargaining as an observer. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses to witness the process and support the bargaining team in achieving a new contract.

Let us know if you would like to attend as an observer!
