More than 100 NICU nurses have completed the holiday low census preference survey. Thank you to everyone who has shared their views. The survey closes Friday, September 25, and we want to hear from as many nurses as possible before then.

This survey is not a vote to change the contract. Your responses will help us understand what, if any, changes nurses would like to see in how holiday low census works.

Grievance Updates

We received the employer’s Step 2 responses to two grievances: one concerning the required two hours of paid time for NIRS training, and the other concerning the increase in education leave funds to $750, prorated by FTE, for all WSNA NICU nurses.

The employer denied both grievances, and WSNA has advanced them to Step 3. We believe the employer’s actions violate the contract’s language and the intent of what we negotiated. We will share another update once the Step 3 hearings are scheduled.
