We have a contract!

Image002 2

The tentative agreement has been ratified by an overwhelming majority vote of WSNA nurses. This decision reflects the strength of our democratic process and our shared commitment to standing together as a union.

The new contract rules, including wage and differential raises, will go into full effect the first full pay following ratification, Sunday February 8.

Our wins include:

  • 15.46% average wage increase over three years
  • Highest night differential in the state
  • Staffing o Staffing will be based on patient acuity and in alignment with AWHONN, NANN, and AAP guidelines (cannot overstate how big this is)
  • NICU staffing plans must be approved by NICU staffing committee representatives
  • break buddy restrictions and fully relieved break improvements.
  • Dedicated DELs nurse
  • Float protections
  • Credit for LPN experience no longer limited to MultiCare, no longer capped at 3 years
  • Nurses with International or LPN experience who were not placed at the appropriate step upon hire will have a 30-day window to apply to be re-stepped

We are proud of what we accomplished together, and we are already preparing for the next phase: enforcement, implementation, and continued organizing. Our solidarity doesn’t end with this vote—it will grow with every shift we work, every grievance we file, every committee meeting we pack with observers, and every new nurse we bring into our movement.

Thank you to every nurse who spoke up, showed up, and cast a vote. You are the union—We are so much stronger together, than apart!

PTO Donations to the Bargaining Team

WSNA nurses at Mary Bridge NICU are able to donate PTO to the bargaining team to help them recoup the time they used. Please show your support for your bargaining team by donating PTO. If each nurse donated just 1 hour, the team would be completely reimbursed for the time they spent fighting for this contract.

You can fill out a PTO donation form by following the link below. Please email completed forms to Jared at JRichardson@WSNA.org.

Level Up at WSNA Union Leadership Conference

Wenatchee | April 26–28

WSNA is expanding its biannual Union Leadership Conference and making a significant investment in local-level leadership. As part of this shift, WSNA is moving from a unit rep model to a “Union Steward” model.

Union Stewards are contract experts. They are empowered to stand on equal footing with management and are equipped with the tools and support they need to enforce our contract and protect our coworkers.

In Solidarity,

Your bargaining team
