UWMC NW latest updates

Workplace Violence

We are bringing this issue up with the hospital at the nurse conference committee. We have nurses attending from the LTCC. I know this is not isolated to a single area of the hospital, to see the change we want and need, we need you the nurses to file ADOs. If there is an incident, please file an ADO and a PSN, file a police report, and get evaluated in the ED. In the break rooms there are flyers outlining the process, if you have questions reach out I am happy to help. A big reminder is you can go to any occupational medicine clinic, not just the UWMC NW.

PTSD

Last year we were able to pass the addition of healthcare workers to the presumptive eligibility RCW for fire fighters and police officers. The most important part is to be evaluated and diagnosed by professional (PA,MD, Psychologist). Once this diagnosis is obtained, it is your right to file an L&I claim.
