Union Updates!

PRH where is our contract

What’s Happening with our Contract?

Our new contract was passed and is live as of January 9, 2026! Currently, our contract is being finalized between the two attorneys, ensuring that there are no gaps, errors, and it’s in tip top shape. Once this final review is completed, our bargaining teams from both parties will need to sign it. Once the signatures are completed, it will be posted on our union homepage for all of our members. If anyone has any questions about language they think is not being applied correctly, please contact our Nurse Rep right away!

Code of Conduct Update

We recently were notified that Pullman leadership is requiring our nurses to sign a code of conduct document. We are also aware that individual departments are putting out documents of staff expectations and commitment to my co-workers.

These documents have not been bargained with our union.

We have sent a letter to HR stating that we disagree with numerous provisions of these documents and we reserve our rights to file a grievance about any application of these that infringes on our nurse’s rights.

Upcoming Officer Elections

Union officer nominations are coming soon! Our local unit’s power comes from the involvement of nurses in our union. Elected WSNA Local Unit Officers are the foundation of our local unit that work in partnership with the WSNA Staff.

Currently, Amy Gifford and Katy Schmidt are serving as Vice Chair and Secretary. They have helped us decide on our local events including nurse’s week celebrations and harvest party festivals to recently sitting on our bargaining team. Feel free to ask either of them about their experiences!

If you’re interested in helping build our union in Pullman and support our nurses- watch for the nomination link coming in March!

Join Us April 26-28 at WSNA Leadership Convention!

Level up new

Two years ago, we outgrew our space for the Union Leadership Conference, so this year we’re moving to the centrally located Wenatchee Convention Center, steps from the Columbia River.

This conference is your chance to hear the latest about the labor movement, build power together and recharge for the challenges ahead. We’re going to have a lot of fun leveling up our leadership skills, hearing from state and national labor leaders, and celebrating union nurses who really took the lead over the past two years.

Don’t miss this opportunity to join nurses from across Washington to swap stories, compare what’s working (and what’s not), and tackle shared challenges together.

Our union has 2 sponsorship slots available for nurses from Pullman to attend that will cover cost of registration, travel, and lodging. Sign up with your nurse rep!
