Day 2 Contract Bargaining Update
Posted Oct 15, 2025
Our bargaining team completed their second day of contract bargaining with the Employer on October 14, 2025. If you remember on day one, we passed our proposals to the Employer. Yesterday we received responses from Pullman to some of what we proposed, and they also shared some of their own proposals they brought.
The proposals from Pullman are significant and aggressive compared to what we have historically seen. It appears management is looking to cut many aspects of our union contract including removing or reducing pay for tasking that nurses currently receive and severely limiting when nurses will receive double time pay. In one proposal it appears an 8-hour nurse may have to work 14 hours before they can receive double time pay, which we’ve heard would be very unlikely for those workers.
Alongside proposals that appear to cut many aspects of our contract, Pullman proposed language that we feel would weaken our union and our nurse’s ability to connect with our union. These proposals include language requiring our union to provide advance notice to engage with our nurses. We don’t believe there should be any barriers for our nurses to get connected with their union or have their concerns addressed and we have rejected those proposals.
How YOU can support your bargaining team:
- On bargaining days- wear your WSNA T shirt, blue scrubs, button or sticker to show you stand with your team. Take a picture with your coworkers and send it to your nurse rep Alle Machorro at 206-707-2048.
- Union membership- Join WSNA today. When you become a member, it shows management that nurses are paying attention
- Stay informed- read your personal emails for bargaining updates and ask your colleagues if they have read them too!
