Officer Nominations are LIVE!

It’s time to nominate our next group of Local Unit Officers. Our Local Unit’s strength and effectiveness is determined by the level of participation by the nurses. We are WSNA! If you are interested in being a leader in your Local Unit or know someone who would be a great candidate, this is your opportunity to nominate yourself or someone else for the position.

Term of office is June 2026-2029. All nominees must be members in good standing. DEADLINE for submission is May 6, 2026. Our union is also seeking nominations for multiple standing contractual committees including workplace violence, nurse practice, and our NEW benefits committee.

Local Union positions for nomination include the following-

Co-Chair (2 openings): The Local Unit Co-Chairs are the leaders and coordinators of our local unit.  They are responsible for ensuring the goals and accomplishing the business of our local unit.  The goals work to keep members informed and involved, uphold the Local Unit Rules, and ensure committees are functional and accountable.  Co-chairs run local unit meetings.

Secretary: The Local Unit Secretary maintains all records and minutes of the Local Unit.

Treasurer: The Local Unit Treasurer receives an itemized account of all the receipts and disbursements pertaining to local unit funds and reports to the Officers on the status of the dues.

Grievance Officer (3 openings): The Local Unit Grievance Officer oversees contract enforcement through the use of the grievance procedure found in the contract, and by doing so, advocates for all the nurses. This role works closely with the nurse representative to ensure our contract is not being violated.

Members-at-Large (2 openings): The two Members-at-Large promote membership in WSNA, attend the twice monthly new hire orientation and work to find ways to keep our nurses engaged in our union.

Nurses can also find committee descriptions in the nomination form above. Our committees in our contract are only as strong as our nurses willing to serve on them. Consider trying one out!
