More FAQ for our TA!

We have heard from many nurses who continue to have questions about the wage scale in our new TA! Our vote remains open through Saturday April 4, at 10am. We encourage you to review the information in this email and fully read the redline agreement.

Where did our first column of steps on our wage scale go?

Our current contract wage scale has two columns, one that represents years of service and one that is contract steps. In passing draft wage scales back and forth, we just included steps, not years, for no reason other than efficiency—no nurse’s step placement would be changed under the new agreement. But we heard from you that having the “years” column is helpful, so we added it back in on our website here. Again- this is not a substantive change for any nurse.

How does the 5% calculation workout?

In Article 6 of the redline, nurses can read how the 5% is paid first as a 3% market adjustment and then an additional 2%. Let’s walk through a couple step examples.

  • A nurse on Step 7 is currently making $52.10.
    • Multiply this by 3% for market adjustment to obtain the new base of 53.66.
    • Multiply this by 2% for a raise to 54.74 which aligns with Step 7 of the new 2026 wage scale.
  • A nurse on Step 3 is currently making $44.92.
    • Multiply this by 3% for market adjustment to obtain the new base of 46.27.
    • Multiply this by 2% for a raise to 47.19 which aligns with Step 3 of the new 2026 wage scale.
  • For nurses at or above Step 17
    • You will still receive the 5% in the same way as described above—BUT, when we eliminated three ghost steps our whole wage scale was adjusted up, so you will receive the wage increases from a new, higher wage, adjusted after eliminating the ghost steps.
    • Due to the compound effect of eliminating those ghost steps, it is essentially a new scale above Step 17.

Our electronic vote is LIVE and will close on Saturday April 4, 2026, at 10am.
