WSNA Leadership Conference in beautiful Lake Chelan!

Join us for the WSNA Leadership Conference at Campbell’s Resort in Chelan April 24 – 26

Your local unit officers are generously sponsoring 10 nurses (on a first come, first serve basis) from the Sacred Heart bargaining unit to attend WSNA Leadership Conference this year.

Don’t miss this opportunity for WSNA’s labor training event at Campbell’s Resort in Chelan April 24 – 26!

Join nurses from around the state as we convene to build stronger local units, become more effective leaders, learn more about the national and state labor scenes, celebrate our successes, and strategize for what’s coming next. More information (as well as registration to the conference) can be found at https://www.wsna.org/calendar/union-leadership-conference/.

To take advantage of this opportunity, here’s how! Be sure to save all original receipts.

  1. Email Jaclyn Smedley (jsmedley@wsna.org) WSNA Nurse Rep to inquire about availability. Only 10 nurses will be eligible for reimbursement from the local unit funds, and it will be on a first come, first serve basis.
  2. Register for the conference by visiting the link provided above.
  3. Book your stay in Lake Chelan. If staying at Campbells Resort, be sure to mention you are attending the WSNA Leadership Conference to obtain the block room rate.
  4. Arrive on April 24 at noon to embark on the first day of Leadership!
  5. Save all original receipts so you can include them with your local unit voucher for direct reimbursement from the local unit funds. Nurse Rep Jaclyn Smedley will have the signed vouchers and can walk you through the process. Be sure to connect with her to help facilitate the process.
  6. To submit for reimbursement, upon your return, attach your receipts for up to $400, along with a WSNA local unit voucher. Purchases of alcohol are not eligible for reimbursement, and nurses must be WSNA members in good standing.

All nurses are encouraged to attend the conference, even if you are not taking advantage of this special opportunity!

What is the best way to prepare for contract bargaining?

Become a Local Unit Liaison and help keep your unit informed and engaged.

Visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SHMCLUL to learn more about the role of the Local Unit Liaison, sign up and join with other nurses as we get ready to win a fair contract this fall. You will then be invited to attend a one-hour training session where you acquire the skills and knowledge to help us accomplish the goal of a fair contract.

Trainings are virtual and the next sessions are scheduled for:
March 9 at 0930 and 2000
March 10 at 0930 and 2000

Union engagement is empowering, so use your voice and help protect and build upon the wages, benefits, and workplace conditions you have already fought so hard to acquire.
