This past Friday we sent an email updating you on the status of King County Council as they’re currently preparing their 2027 budget and once again the ongoing public health clinic funding shortfall is part of that discussion. In that email we brought you up to speed on where the County has been in funding the clinics in the past, and the decision before them now. That is why we’re asking you to use your voice and TAKE ACTION NOW.

Please take action TODAY by clicking the link above to email the King County Council and ask them to establish a reliable and sustainable funding source for the clinics NOW through a recently appropriated funding mechanism granted by the legislature. The reason we need them to do this now is the temporary funding mechanism currently in place expires at the end of 2027. With implementation of HR 1 from the federal government, Washington State alone is expected to see an increase of 200,000 uninsured folks by the end of 2027. We need Council to act now and begin preparing for this massive loss of coverage and increase in need for public health clinics and services.

Email Council and add your own stories about the critical care and services you provide for this vulnerable population. We also want them to hear about the barriers to care the community you serve faces.

We want to partner with Council on these next steps and they need to hear directly from you. Please do not hesitate and email now before Wednesday morning where they begin discussing what action they will take, if any at this time.
