Negotiations Update Session #4

On February 14, WSNA and Seattle King County met for the fourth day of negotiations. We gave our complete initial proposal, which included wages. The county is seeking flexibility to change schedules on short notice and limit the availability of comp time.

Outside of bargaining, WSNA has expressed deep concerns with the recent CHSS position and sent a cease and desist to the county. We are considering all options to pressure the county to keep nurses in this role as PHSS. We are also moving forward to set dates to meet with Dr. Kahn and need to prepare for it.

There will be a WSNA lunch and learn call on Wednesday, March 1, at 12:05 p.m. on Teams. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please get in touch with the officers or email Bret for a link if you do not have one.

If you have any questions or concerns, don’t hesitate to contact one of the local unit officers or reach out to WSNA Nurse Representative Bret Percival at bpercival@wsna.org or by phone at 206-471-0876.

In unity,
