Local Unit Meeting and Updates

Local Unit Meeting

This Monday’s Local Unit Meeting will be held both online and in person at Whidbey Coffee, located at 1960 Marketplace Dr, Burlington, WA 98233, from 6–7 p.m. We will be gathered around the indoor fireplace

Please join us for updates on precepting, ADOs, and a few fun facts.

Meal and Rest Break Update

WSNA shares nurses’ goal of addressing the current meal and rest break system. After reviewing survey responses and input from nurses, WSNA met with management and asked to discuss potential changes to improve working conditions.

Unfortunately, management has declined to meet with WSNA to address those changes. Instead, management submitted an offer based on the RCW directly to WSNA legal, bypassing your local unit officers, and seeking agreement to give up some current contractual protections.

Management has stated that it remains open to written proposals from WSNA. We will continue to advocate for a process that protects nurses’ contractual rights and reflects the input nurses provided.

PERC Training

In compliance with the recent ULP settlement, manager training will begin in June.

Thank you to those who reached out and signed up to attend. If you are interested in attending, please contact your nurse representative, Robin Cully, at rcully@wsna.org.
