PeaceHealth Southwest nurses, our current contract expires in nine days! We were back at the bargaining table Tuesday, February 17, to keep fighting for a deal that will make you proud over the next three years. Though  we left feeling optimistic over how close we are to reaching agreement on a lot of issues, there’s still a lot of work to be done to finish the job – especially for nurses who work outside the hopsital.

An overwhelming super-majority of you signed the petition for a fair contract for ALL WSNA Southwest nurses, and we presented that to the Leadership team Tuesday afternoon. Alyssa Boswell from Home Hospice and Jacob Clark from CVICU both spoke on behalf of our bargaining unit when they delivered the petitions to our CNO during negotiations. The message they sent was clear: we count on our CNO to have nurses’ backs when she’s in the board as our leader and a fellow nurse, and we need her help to rebuild trust by moving our bargaining unit’s Home and Community Nurses back onto the Acute Care Pay Scale where they belong.

Call for a final push: There are ONLY THREE DAYS left of bargaining before our contract expires! The team needs everyone’s support to get the contract finished before 2/28. We won’t be rushed into a deal that isn’t good for everyone, but with your help we believe we can reach an agreement that gets everyone paid competitively and on time!
