Annual Pay Increase

Article 8.1 Hourly Wage Rates. Following the first full pay period following February 1, 2027, staff nurses will receive a 4% across-the-board raise.

You should see this reflected on your February 20 paycheck. (Pay period 2/1-2/14)

ST Clare Pay Grid 2025 2027

Memorandum of Understanding: Meal Period & Rest Break Coverage

Effective 2/1/26 SCH will post five (5) dedicated FTE break nurses. Effective 2/1/27, SCH will post an additional three (3) dedicated FTE break nurses.

WSNA has inquired with St. Clare leadership to see what will be posted for Break Nurse FTEs.

This is their response:

  • CU  0.4 dayshift FTE
  • PCU  0.4 dayshift FTE
  • MTU 0.5 dayshift FTE
  • OSS  0.5 dayshift FTE
  • ED 0.5 dayshift FTE and 0.5 nightshift FTE

WSNA has sent an inquiry to hospital leadership about how this determination was made. What are your thoughts/concerns so we can communicate that to leadership?

Send inquiries to WSNA Nurse Rep Janet Stewart at JStewart@wsna.org or speak to one of your union officers.

Nurses with International Experience

Per contract article 8.3, RNs with International Experience, all your recent continuous experience will be credited for placement on the wage scale.

If you have submitted for this, your qualifying experience should have been credited by now, to include backpay to the 2nd full pay period following Ratification (February 21, 2025).

If you have not received your adjustment, notify Nurse Rep Janet Stewart immediately.  Even if you did not submit for this earlier, let us know now so we can fight for you.

Interested in Stepping up to become a Union Leader?

Your current officers are seeking members to help lead the team, either as an officer or a unit representative/steward. We need a strong foundation to inform and ignite our bargaining unit members. There are different roles; we'd like to help you find the right one for you.  Talk to one of the current officers or Nurse Rep. The upcoming WSNA Leadership Conference is the perfect place to get the training.

Resources and tools

Document unsafe conditions

If you find yourself in a situation that you believe creates unsafe conditions for patients or for you, you should complete a Staffing Complaint / ADO Form as soon as possible.

By completing the form, you will help make the problem known to management, creating an opportunity for the problem to be addressed. Additionally, you will be documenting the facts, which may be helpful to you later if there is a negative outcome.

WSNA also uses your ADO forms to track the problems occurring in your facility. When you and your coworkers take the important step of filling out an ADO form, you are helping to identify whether there is a pattern of unsafe conditions for you or your patients at your facilities. This information is used by your conference committee, staffing committee, and WSNA labor staff to improve your working conditions.

Representation rights

As a union member, you have the right to have a representative present in any meetings with management that could potentially lead to disciplinary action against you.

If called into a meeting with management, read the following to management when the meeting begins:

If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, I respectfully request that my union representative be present at this meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to participate in this discussion.

Find out more about this crucial right and how to exercise it to ensure your fair treatment and protection.
