No Kings Day is Saturday March 28

No Kings Day Sign WSNA AFT 3 27 2026

Millions of people around the country will mobilize and peacefully march at "No Kings Day" tomorrow, March 28.

WSNA's participation in this action is grounded in our principles, including our stated position that all communities deserve access to safe, quality health care and all workers have a right to form, join and fully participate in their union.

We fight for these issues at the bargaining table, in public policy, and tomorrow, in the streets.

We are joining forces with our AFT union siblings who are educators and staff who primarily work in Washington's Community and 4-year colleges.

There are several local protest locations, but WSNA staff will be at Tacoma's Wright Park with Signs and Palm Cards. Look for Grace and Megan on the corner by Cosmonaut Coffee Co - 817 Division Avenue. Meet at 12:45.

Send photos from the event to Matt at mvivion@wsna.org so we can promote on social media and in future communications.

Help amplify the event:

  • Use #NoKings on social media
  • Reshare or tag WSNA and AFT's posts on Facebook, Instagram and Bluesky.

Feel free to join WSNA's mobilization network so we can share information about other upcoming mobilization efforts. Here's the QR code.

Interested in Stepping up to become a Union Leader?

Your current officers are seeking members to help lead the team, either as an officer or a unit representative/steward. We need a strong foundation to inform and ignite our bargaining unit members. There are different roles; we'd like to help you find the right one for you.  Talk to one of the current officers or Nurse Rep. The upcoming WSNA Leadership Conference is the perfect place to get the training.

Document unsafe conditions

If you find yourself in a situation that you believe creates unsafe conditions for patients or for you, you should complete a Staffing Complaint / ADO Form as soon as possible.

By completing the form, you will help make the problem known to management, creating an opportunity for the problem to be addressed. Additionally, you will be documenting the facts, which may be helpful to you later if there is a negative outcome.

WSNA also uses your ADO forms to track the problems occurring in your facility. When you and your coworkers take the important step of filling out an ADO form, you are helping to identify whether there is a pattern of unsafe conditions for you or your patients at your facilities. This information is used by your conference committee, staffing committee, and WSNA labor staff to improve your working conditions.

Representation rights

As a union member, you have the right to have a representative present in any meetings with management that could potentially lead to disciplinary action against you.

If called into a meeting with management, read the following to management when the meeting begins:

If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, I respectfully request that my union representative be present at this meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to participate in this discussion.

Find out more about this crucial right and how to exercise it to ensure your fair treatment and protection.
