New Electronic Low Census Form

In response to ongoing difficulties with maintaining the low census list, your officers have worked with staffing to create an online form for nurses to request low census. This ensures that your request for low census will have all the information needed to grant your request if possible. You should have received an email with instructions on where to find the form and how to fill it out, along with a convenient QR code you can use to access the form with your cell phone. You can fill out the form from any browser and do not have to log in to PH's intranet to complete it. Please let us know if you have any questions or difficulties with low census. You can email your WSNA Nurse Rep, Grace Chesterman, at gchesterman@wsna.org.

New IV Catheters

There have been reports from many areas of the hospital regarding difficulty with the new Introcan IV catheters. Your local unit officers have brought this to the attention of hospital administration, and they encouraged staff to fill out a Product Complaint Form, or a Safe2Share if there is patient harm or the situation meets the requirements for a Safe2Share. You do not have to fill out both forms if one is more appropriate for the scenario you encounter.

New Hospital Staffing Committee

A new state law went into effect last year that establishes a hospital-wide staffing committee. This will allow ancillary staff like nurse techs and patient care techs to join their voice with nurses to form the staffing plans that affect everyone's life at St. Joseph. This is an exciting opportunity to refresh and strengthen our current staffing committee model to better serve all staff. If you are interested in participating in the formation of this new staffing committee, please let your Nurse Rep know (gchesterman@wsna.org).

Reminder: Always Review Your Paystubs!

You have up to 30 days to contest an error in your pay. Mistakes can happen so please make sure you review your pay records every pay period to ensure that you are receiving the compensation you are entitled to! If you feel there is an error in how your shifts are coded, please let your timekeeper know and escalate to MyHR if necessary. If you have any issues with pay, you can contact WSNA Nurse Rep Grace Chesterman at gchesterman@wsna.org.
