Happy Memorial Day to all of our nurses

Today, we honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We also recognize the many nurses who have served in the armed forces and those who continue to care for our communities with compassion, strength, and dedication every day.

Wishing you and your families a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

The Votes Are In — The Memorandum of Understanding for the Meal and Rest Break Waiver Has Passed. Thank You for Voting.

This agreed upon waiver clearly spells out your rights under Washington State law. This new waiver allows you to waive the default timing on meals and/or rest breaks within certain parameters and waive certain meal periods as well as combining breaks in certain circumstances.  It also makes it clear that the form is revokable and that WSNA members can't be coerced or compelled to waive their rights around meal and rest breaks.

PLEASE NOTE- If you do not wish to waive the timing or your breaks and/or waive a meal where permissible, you do not have to do that. It is YOUR choice.  This MOU is in place in case you want to do want to exercise one of your options now or in the future!

Please read the MOU carefully. The waiver portion of the MOU describes the options you have for waiving timing of meals and breaks and/or waiving meal periods.

For Questions about the Meal and Rest Break Waiver, contact your Nurse Representative Sara Frey at sfrey@wsna.org.
