Get ready for a bulletin board competition!

Calling all creative nurses, DIYers, and craft enthusiasts!

As negotiations approach, it's time for some spring cleaning on our union bulletin boards! These boards serve as vital hubs for sharing critical information with everyone on your unit. Over the next couple of weeks, we're launching a bulletin board decorating competition across the hospital. Not only is this a fun way to engage with our union, but the two winning units will have the chance to select a prize: either a Nespresso Machine or a Foot Massager for your unit! Winners will be determined by votes during Nurses Week, which is from May 6-May 12.

Your board doesn’t have to be union-themed; it just needs to incorporate the required elements (listed below) and showcase your creativity! We'll be providing essential materials and some required documents to help you get started.

If your unit is interested in participating, please fill out the below form so we can gauge interest and send you the necessary supplies: https://forms.office.com/r/EX1Awyp2Zx.

Please note: We share our union boards with our SEIU siblings, so please be mindful of the space we're using on our bulletin boards. If you come across SEIU documents on our half of the board, you can move them back to their designated side, but don't throw any of their materials away.

Required materials for the board will be provided once your unit signs up. Some of the required information includes:

  • A copy of the contract
  • Your Weingarten/Representation Rights
  • A list of your officers and unit reps
  • A QR code linking to a membership application

Here are just a few examples of bulletin boards we love. These boards are meant to catch peoples attention so they can easily find negotiations updates, membership information, etc., so go big and be creative!
