Location: Tacoma Urban Performing Arts Center (TUPAC) 1105 M.L.K. Jr. Way Tacoma.
This is a community gathering to rally against ICE in hospitals and highlight the medical neglect of detainees in the NW Detention Center. Community members and healthcare workers are invited to share their experiences with ICE and share ideas on how to get ICE out of hospitals.
Co-Sponsored by Malaya Movement Tacoma, Tanggol Migrante Movement USA, Philippines-U.S. Solidarity Organization and WSNA.

We want to hear from you if you have concerns about the care and treatment of patients from the NW Detention Center at SJMC. Are you noticing or experiencing issues related to federal agents interfering with patient care or hospital policies and procedures? Have you been asked to share patient information with agents, either in person or by phone, in ways that raise privacy concerns?
Your WSNA leaders have raised these issues with hospital leadership, but we need your firsthand input to fully understand what is happening and to advocate effectively on behalf of you and your patients.
Please submit an Assignment Despite Objection (ADO) Staffing Complaint Form and clearly describe your concerns in the narrative section. If your concerns involve interference with hospital policies, clinical protocols, or patient care, also submit an IRIS report so the issue can be formally reviewed by Risk Management.

Your current officers are seeking members to help lead the team, either as an officer or a unit representative/steward. As we gear up for Negotiations 2027, we need a strong foundation to inform and ignite our bargaining unit members. There are different roles; we'd like to help you find the right one for you. Talk to one of the current officers or Nurse Rep. The upcoming WSNA Leadership Conference is the perfect place to get the training.
Is your daily staffing not meeting the staffing matrix? Are charge nurses and break nurses being pulled to take patient assignments? Are you missing meals and rest breaks? Are you forced to use break buddies in order to get a break?
When break buddies are used, fill out the brief questionnaire so we can track this important data using the break buddy QR codes on your union bulletin boards.
We're receiving ADOs mainly from Critical Care, PACU and Family Birth Center. We need to hear from you to know where staffing is falling short. Your ADOs DO Matter.

Join us for the 2026 WSNA Union Leadership Conference.
If you find yourself in a situation that you believe creates unsafe conditions for patients or for you, you should complete a Staffing Complaint / ADO Form as soon as possible.
By completing the form, you will help make the problem known to management, creating an opportunity for the problem to be addressed. Additionally, you will be documenting the facts, which may be helpful to you later if there is a negative outcome.
WSNA also uses your ADO forms to track the problems occurring in your facility. When you and your coworkers take the important step of filling out an ADO form, you are helping to identify whether there is a pattern of unsafe conditions for you or your patients at your facilities. This information is used by your conference committee, staffing committee, and WSNA labor staff to improve your working conditions.
As a union member, you have the right to have a representative present in any meetings with management that could potentially lead to disciplinary action against you.
If called into a meeting with management, read the following to management when the meeting begins:
If this discussion could in any way lead to my being disciplined or terminated, I respectfully request that my union representative be present at this meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to participate in this discussion.
Find out more about this crucial right and how to exercise it to ensure your fair treatment and protection.
