Negotiation update and local unit meeting

Negotiations update

We had our fourth day of negotiations on August 21. Our next date is October 11. We’ve made proposals including wages, health insurance, WSNA membership and more. We’ve made disappointing progress and we need to meet with you, our members.

Local Unit Meeting

We are having a local unit meeting September 3 from 6-8 p.m. in the classroom at the hospital. This is a drop-in meeting. If you are working, please stop by before or after your shift. Our attorney, Lane Toensmeir, will be at this meeting to talk about the issues we are having and the impact that the Astria bankruptcy is having on these negotiations.

When: Tuesday, Sept. 3 from 6-8 p.m.

Where: the Classroom at Astria Sunnyside Hospital

ADO/Staffing Complaint Forms are now online. These are reviewed by your Staffing Committee. We encourage you to use the online version. Copies automatically go to the LU (Local Unit) Chair, the co-chairs on the staffing committee, which includes Cynthia Lewis. Please include your manager’s email information so a copy goes to them as well.

In solidarity!

Your negotiating team: Lovella Flores, Marisela Aguilar, Lori Riojas, Cheryl Bofman, Janice Schell.
