New Nurse Representative at WWVH

In order to better balance our workload at WSNA, we occasionally need to change our nurse rep assignments. It has been an absolute honor to work with all of you and to help facilitate change. I will continue to work on current grievances.

Carmen Garrison will be returning as your nurse representative. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience.

You can contact Carmen at cgarrison@wsna.org or 206-575-7979, Ext. 3113 (office).

Officer Elections

It is time again for officer elections. Please take the time to complete the form to ensure candidates are on the ballot. If you have not been an officer and would like more information, ask a current officer, or reach out to your nurse representative.

Contract Negotiations

Bargaining a new contract is fast approaching. We need EVERY nurse to complete the pre-bargaining survey for your voice to be heard when the bargaining team prepares.

Grievances

LC accrual- We had been battling this for months, going through three different HR representatives. It had been a past practice for nurses placed Low Census to accrue. This has been on going since the initial contract. However, the contract is silent on this. We filed a grievance for past practice. We achieved an initial win from the employer to re-establish accrual when a nurse is on Low Census and back accrual, however, the employer changed face and will not uphold this when meeting with Brian Gibbons and HR. This has been advanced to arbitration.

Thank you again for the honor to represent you!

Laurie Robinson- WNSA Nurse Rep. lrobinson@wsna.org or 206-620-4136
