Wage information and a note from your negotiation team

Compensation Wage Rates

Below are links to charts showing the wage increases for each step and the applicable lump-sum payments, if any. Please see the previously posted vote summary for the rationale for the wage increases and lump sums. The wage increases were intended to make the overall compensation more competitive and to recalibrate the BSN and MSN compensation to $1.00 and $2.00, respectively, more than the ADN wages – which is the way most other facilities handle BSN and MSN compensation.

A note from your negotiation team:

Hello VM Nurses!

After more than 4 months of bargaining, we have a tentative agreement that we are proud to recommend for a yes vote. We reached this deal thanks to each and every one of you. Your support in wearing a sticker, attending a local unit meeting and your willingness to take action publicly provided those of us on the bargaining team the support we needed and demonstrated to management that you were willing to fight for the contract we deserve. These actions may seem small when you do them, but they make a big difference at the negotiation table.

Our hardest won victory was competitive wages that will both incentivize people to stay and help recruit more nurses to alleviate some of our current staffing issues.

We also recognize that there is no way that this could make everyone 100% happy and there is more to work on in the next negotiations (there always is) but we believe that this agreement is a victory for nurses, and we recommend a “yes” vote.

According to our WSNA policy on contract ratification, votes will be in-person only and only members can vote. If you would like to become a member, the application and instructions are on the WSNA website, or reach out to our WSNA Organizer Crystal Doll at (206) 334-8388.

The vote will be Friday, Sept. 10 in the Correa conference rooms, just inside of the cafeteria, from 6-8 a.m., 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Michelle Moore, our nurse representative, and at least one of us will be present to answer any questions that come up.

Some things that we are particularly proud of:

No take-aways!
Double the float pool!
Higher incentive for float nurses!
Competitive wages!

Thank you for your continued support, and don’t forget to vote!

Sincerely,
Your officers and negotiation team,

Jane Hill-Littlejohn, Arlene Alba, Susan Dunn, and Suzanne Baek
