We are happy to report that the contract was approved (or ratified) by you, the members, Friday with an overwhelming YES response. Thank you to everyone who showed up to vote and to every team member who was there to answer questions and assist during the vote.
The contract is then reviewed with the proverbial “fine-tooth comb” and once that is completed it will be distributed to both Virginia Mason management and your WSNA negotiating team members for their signature. When every signature is obtained, the contract is then posted for all. This obviously doesn’t happen overnight so in this interim period of time, if you have any questions please reach out to one of the officers who can answer those for you.
Thank you to everyone who voted on Friday. I want to extend a huge thanks to all of the RNs that offered their voices and perspectives on all of the issues. Please note: The fight, especially for staffing, is not over! Now is the time to build on this engagement. If you are a unit rep, curious, or want to learn about ways to develop your bargaining power, contact WSNA Nurse Organizer Crystal Doll at firstname.lastname@example.org. There will be more to come on this hot topic!
I also want to thank the dedicated bargaining team consisting of your RN colleagues that spent many hours securing a fair and just contract for RNs at Virginia Mason.
Jane Hill-Littlejohn RN-Resource RN, WSNA Chair
Suzanne Baek, RN- OR, WSNA Treasurer
Susan Dunn RN- Hyperbaric, WSNA Grievance Officer
Arlene Alba, RN — OR, WSNA Secretary
If you know or run into any of these folks, please thank them for their time and dedication in holding Management accountable to keeping VM a great place to work.
Your negotiation team donated their time to be able to get this contract. If you have not had a chance to donate vacation time to them, please fill out this form and send it to email@example.com by this Thursday.
