Moving Forward: Diversity, Inclusion, and Justice in Nursing in Washington State is now online and available for download.

This paper is intended to give nurses an opportunity both to reflect on our history and to help guide a path towards an anti-racist nursing practice that is equitable, and culturally and linguistically appropriate.

This is an important issue that impacts healthcare systems and workforces as well as the people of Washington state, because these structural harms are associated with increased death and illness, shortened lifespan, increased perinatal and infant mortality, and other adverse outcomes related to 1) the physiologic impact of chronic exposure to stressors like racism; 2) access to healthcare services and other resources like adequate food and safe housing; and 3) direct effects of these harms in the healthcare system(s).

We hope you’ll take advantage of this workbook created for our members and nurses across the state.
