RNs vote YES to add 12 hour shift in 36 hour work week by an overwhelming majority

AMR recently made a proposal to WSNA about the addition of a new scheduling option for AMR registered nurses.

This has been introduced as a method to fill staffing needs between the hours of 3 pm and 3 am.

This new schedule would allow a qualified RN to choose a work schedule that is a different schedule other than the currently available 14-hour shifts in 42 hours or 24-hour shifts in 48 hours.

This new schedule would be posted and hired into utilizing the language contained within the current contract.

This new schedule also comes with a new pay scale that is specified in the MOA.

This new schedule, by way of the Memorandum of Agreement, will become part of the AMR/WSNA contract moving forward.

If you are interested in applying for this new schedule, please do two things:

  1. Notify Gennia of your interest
  2. Keep an eye out for the position posting so that you can apply for the schedule when it comes available.

Get ready for upcoming Local Unit Officer elections!

It is time for WSNA Local Unit Officer elections once again!

Stay tuned for upcoming officer election nomination forms to be sent out in the next several weeks.  We will be seeking interested RNs to take on the roles of WSNA Chair, Co-Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Grievance Officer and Membership Officer.

The nomination forms will be followed by election ballots most likely in electronic format.

WSNA will train interested RNs as to the duties of these positions and what is expected.

It is important to have a full complement of officers as we move towards our next contract bargaining cycle.

Your current Officers Mark Strohbusch and Clint Kneuven have done an amazing job of taking care of officer duties for a very long time.

Together we win!
