Notice to AMR Registered Nurses re: Addition of new 12 Hour shift in 36-hour workweek Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)

AMR recently made a proposal to WSNA about the addition of a new scheduling option for AMR Registered Nurses.

This has been introduced as a method to fill staffing needs between the hours of 3pm and 3am.

This new schedule would allow a qualified RN to choose a work schedule that is a different schedule other than the currently available 14-hour shifts in 42 hours or 24-hour shifts in 48 hours.

This new schedule would be posted and hired into utilizing the language contained within the current contract.

This new schedule also comes with a new pay scale that is specified in the MOA.

A link to the MOA is below.

WSNA has reviewed the contents of the MOA along with the rationale offered by the employer and has agreed to take this to a vote of the membership.

An electronic/online vote by the membership has been scheduled to begin at 8 am on Tuesday, Nov.18 running through 5 pm on Wednesday, Nov.19.

Members will receive a notice of voting via email by a third-party vendor called "Election Buddy" on the day of the vote with instructions on how to cast your vote.

WSNA Representative Ed Zercher will be available for questions regarding the vote up to and throughout the vote by emailing ezercher@wsna.org.  Local Unit Officers Clint Kneuven and Mark Strohbusch will also be available to answer your questions during this time.

WSNA believes that this new scheduling option will offer another alternative to WSNA Registered Nurses that adds scheduling flexibility to our members without disrupting the schedules currently available.

Keep an eye out for the email offering instructions on when and how to cast your vote on the MOA, starting at 0800 on Tuesday, Nov. 18.
