Kadlec Anniversary Step Advancement: Agreement Finalized, Review Your Pay!
WSNA and Kadlec have officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) implementing Article 7.2 Step Advancement under our 2026–2028 collective bargaining agreement.
This agreement establishes the transition from the previous 1,872-hours-worked requirement to annual step advancement based on anniversary dates.
The new system was implemented effective September 20, 2026, and nurses should now be reviewing their step placement, advancement dates, and pay to ensure the agreement has been applied correctly.
How the Agreement Applies to You
The signed agreement establishes the following:
- Nurses who already received a qualifying compensation adjustment in 2026: Your next step advancement will occur 12 months after that adjustment. The 2026 adjustment date becomes your new anniversary date for step progression.
- Nurses at the top of the wage scale: No additional step advancement is available under the MOU.
- Nurses with an anniversary date between September 20 and December 31: If you have not already received a qualifying 2026 adjustment, you will advance on your 2026 anniversary date.
- Nurses with an anniversary date between May 5 and September 19: If you have not already received a qualifying 2026 adjustment, you should receive a one-time step advancement effective September 20, 2026. Your next step advancement will occur 12 months later.
- Nurses who do not qualify for a 2026 adjustment: Your next step advancement will occur on your 2027 anniversary date, as outlined in the agreement.
Going forward, your step progression date will be based on the date established through this transition, rather than requiring you to accumulate another 1,872 hours.
IMPORTANT: What if Your Step Increase Is Missing or Incorrect?
If you expected a step advancement and did not receive one, or if you received an advancement but believe the effective date or placement is incorrect, please submit an inquiry directly to Kadlec HR.
The signed MOU establishes a formal review process for nurses who believe the effective date of their first step increase under this agreement is incorrect.
Send your inquiry to:
Kyle Lamb, HR Business Partner
kyle.lamb@providence.org
Your email should include:
- Your name, department, and Bargaining Unit Seniority Date (BUSD).
- Whether you expected an increase that was not received or received an increase you believe was incorrect.
- The date of your last step advancement, if known.
- Any supporting information, such as pay statements, wage rates, or previous HR communications.
You Have 30 Days to Request Review!
Under Section H: Review Process of the signed MOU, nurses who believe the effective date of their first step increase is incorrect must submit their review request no later than 30 days from the date of that first step increase.
HR is required to review the request in good faith and provide an initial response within 30 calendar days of receiving it.
Please do not wait to raise a concern. If you expected an increase and did not receive one, submit your inquiry promptly rather than waiting for the issue to resolve itself.
If you are unsure whether the agreement applies to you, you can still contact Kyle to request clarification regarding your individual step placement and next advancement date.
