Retention bonus update

We, your WSNA bargaining team, continue to work toward an agreement on a retention bonus. We remain concerned that the terms of the bonus fall short of enticing nurses to stay at the UW. Retaining nurses and appropriate staffing is a huge priority during these challenging times. In particular, the UW has been unwilling to move from a 2-year commitment to a 1-year commitment which would be consistent with terms offered to new employees. We heard loud and clear from you all that 2 years is too long. We also want to convey that any agreement will make clear that this is a voluntary program. Stay tuned for further information.
