We are thrilled to share the exciting news that management has officially committed to a comprehensive replacement of all current IV infusion, PCA, and syringe pumps throughout the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health System. This initiative is set to kick off at St. Joes and Virginia Mason Medical Center within the next 90 days, with a targeted completion date by the end of the fiscal year (June 30, 2024).

Your collective efforts in filling out ADOs and taking a stand for safe equipment have played a crucial role in making this initiative happen! While we celebrate this significant milestone, we also anticipate the need to hold St. Joes accountable throughout this process. Please continue to fill out ADOs and IRIS reports whenever you encounter broken equipment during your shifts.

Additionally, we encourage you to inform patients about this initiative if they have concerns about equipment. Patients are welcome to express their concerns about broken equipment by utilizing the VMFH patient complaint form.

Negotiation News

As we move ever closer to starting negotiations for a new contract this summer, we want to make sure we are hearing from every nurse what their priorities are when it comes to bargaining for a better work environment. The pre-negotiation survey is live now, and we will continue to take new submissions through April 15. If you haven't had a chance to complete the survey yet, please do so today by following the link below. Encourage your coworkers to do the same!
