Pledge to Act for Working IV Pumps!

Pumprepair

For over a year we have been bringing the concerns of nurses across the hospital to management regarding the unacceptable state of the IV pumps at SJMC. We have been repeatedly told that the issue is being worked on and have been given vague reassurances that something will be happening soon. Our requests for statements or scripting from hospital leadership so that nurses can tell patients what the problem is and that there is a plan to fix it have gone unanswered.

Enough is enough and it is time to put pressure on management to take more decisive action to fix the IV pumps. Today, we’re launching a pledge to let management know that PATIENT CARE = PUMP REPAIR.

We need every nurse to sign this pledge stating that you will fill out an ADO and an IRIS for every shift you work with a broken IV pump. The pledge also has an opportunity for you to share your story about broken IV pumps and how it impacted your ability to give patient care. We’ll be distributing PATIENT CARE = PUMP REPAIR stickers across the hospital and ask that you wear your sticker every shift!

Our patients deserve the absolute best care we can give them, and we demand that hospital management provides us with working equipment so that we can provide it for them. Fill out the pledge today, sticker up, and keep advocating for your patients.
