No Kings Day is Saturday March 28
Posted Mar 27, 2026

Millions of people around the country will mobilize and peacefully march at "No Kings Day" tomorrow, March 28.
WSNA's participation in this action is grounded in our principles, including our stated position that all communities deserve access to safe, quality health care and all workers have a right to form, join and fully participate in their union.
We fight for these issues at the bargaining table, in public policy, and tomorrow, in the streets.
We are joining forces with our AFT union siblings who are educators and staff who primarily work in Washington's Community and 4-year colleges.
There are several local protest locations, but WSNA staff will be at Tacoma's Wright Park with Signs and Palm Cards. Look for Grace and Megan on the corner by Cosmonaut Coffee Co - 817 Division Avenue. Meet at 12:45.
Send photos from the event to Matt at mvivion@wsna.org so we can promote on social media and in future communications.
Help amplify the event:
- Use #NoKings on social media
- Reshare or tag WSNA and AFT's posts on Facebook, Instagram and Bluesky.
Feel free to join WSNA's mobilization network so we can share information about other upcoming mobilization efforts. Here's the QR code.

Safe Staffing Campaign is Underway
We are reading the ADO Staffing complaint forms coming in daily and recognize the severe short staffing issues taking place throughout the hospital.
The union leaders have been bringing this issue to hospital leadership at the monthly Hospital Staffing Committee Meeting each month; but there is no promise that National Common Spirit will fill our staffing vacancies.
WSNA filed a Union Group Grievance on the violations against our Safe Staffing Contract language:
- Failure to meet the staffing matrices which were submitted to the Department of Health
- Pulling charge nurses and break nurses to take patient assignments
- Failure to provide sufficient meal and rest break coverage; thus, forcing the use of break buddies
- Failure to hire and post FTEs for vacated nursing positions
- Forced mandatory overtime due to staffing shortages
WSNA has filed a Cease and Desist and Grievance for non-contractual Mandatory OT/Mandatory Call in the PACUs.
What can you do?
- Continue to submit ADOs for staffing violations https://www.wsna.org/union/ado
- Participate in upcoming union group grievance meetings (date/time to be announced)
- Wear our newly created "No Skeleton Crews" stickers every day at work. We'll be getting them out on the WSNA union bulletin boards and to the Union Leaders and Unit Reps. If management tells you not to wear them; then ask if wearing it could lead to disciplinary action. If they say No, then continue to wear your stickers proudly. It is your protected, concerted right to wear these stickers under the rules of the National Labor Relations Board. If management say Yes, then remove the sticker and notify your WSNA Nurse Representative.
