Governor’s vaccine mandate

Under the governor’s vaccination mandate, it is now a condition of employment at every hospital in the State of Washington. This mandate comes with criminal prosecution for any employer who decides not to abide by the proclamation. There is allowances for medical and religious exemptions. If you are seeking an exemption, contact the hospital’s HR for the appropriate forms.

What can WSNA do? We met with management on August 20 to negotiate the effects of the mandate and presented our proposal for a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). We are working on scheduling follow-up dates with management to reach an MOA.

Contract Negotiations

Our scheduled session for Aug. 20 was cancelled due to the hospital’s attorney being ill. Our next session is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 30. We will send out an update following that session. We anticipate getting counters and proposals from management at our next session.

Thanks and Gratitude

You are on the front lines every day. You are the guardians of the community you care for. It’s been a long year and a half. Just about the time you thought you could take in a breath, the fifth wave of COVID hit. The delta variant is voracious and you’re seeing younger seriously ill patients. You’re feeling burnt out, exhausted, and fatigued. Try to find time to do something for yourself. You deserve it.

Thank you for fighting the good fight.
