
Nominate union nurses who led the way
Eight recognition awards will be presented to individuals and teams at the WSNA Union Leadership Conference.

At our Union Leadership Conference, we will be honoring outstanding members in eight categories. Deadline: Feb. 26.
| Outstanding Local Unit Chair | A Local Unit Chair/Co Chair who gets, things done. They lead by example. They promote WSNA, inspire and mentor members, and conduct the business of the Local Unit. |
| Adversity Award | An RN or group of RNs who have faced a difficult challenge in their workplace, and with perseverance and determination prevailed in their fight for justice. |
| Local Unit Star | A member who has stepped forward to become more involved with the Local Unit. They may be the one who makes the phone calls, meets with new and prospective members, becomes involved with workplace/WSNA committees, or does all of these things. |
| Outstanding Negotiating Team | A team that stuck together and supported each other throughout negotiations, while dealing with difficult issues, and keeping members informed, involved, and mobilized. |
| Emeritus Award | A member who is retired and has made significant contributions to their Local Unit and may have contributed at the state and national level. |
| Outstanding Grievance Officer | A member who assists nurses in understanding their rights in the contract and effectively represents the bargaining unit nurses. |
| Membership Award | An individual or committee that has strengthened the Local Unit through membership recruitment, communications, fund-raising, community engagement and other union building projects. |
| Steward Award | An individual who is passionate about their union and about ensuring that the union contract is followed. Union Stewards are leaders on their unit, trusted by their coworkers, and increase WSNA presence in the workplace by demonstrating to their colleagues and management that the union is the worker and the workers are the union. |
