Bargaining update

Your WSNA team of registered nurses met with Northwest Administration on Friday, June 25 for a 9 hour bargaining session. This was our 8th time meeting with management.

Negotiations advanced as both sides presented counters to previous proposals and we were able to reach some tentative agreements on some smaller issues. The employer has made some positive moves on economics and WSNA plans to have a strong, comprehensive counter to most outstanding proposals at our next bargaining session.

Our team opened the session by sharing personal stories submitted by RNs from around the hospital, bringing their voices to the table and relaying their first-hand accounts of the challenges and rewards of working at UWMC-NW. The sharing of these personal stories was a strong reminder of the impact these negotiations have on the working lives of Northwest’s RNs and set the tone for a day of very constructive bargaining.

We have scheduled an additional day of bargaining before the end of the month and will be reconvening with the administration on Wednesday, June 30.

Our goal as always is to reach a mutually agreeable resolution soon. Until we do, we will continue to fight for the priorities of Northwest’s registered nurses.
