WSNA and UWMC have reached an agreement on Meal and Rest Breaks!

WSNA had been working with the employer for months on getting to a place of agreement on a MOU for Meal and Rest Breaks.

This Memorandum of Understanding includes second meal waivers with a life span of RN choice.

This includes the ability to waive a second meal break and avoid a mandatory 13 hour work day.

This includes the ability to combine meal and breaks.

Lastly, this MOU includes the ability to be flexible in the timing of your meal and breaks.

WSNA has worked with RNs from around the hospital, taking the time to hear your needs and ensure no agreement was reached that would compromise your rights and benefits afforded by the recent changes in the law.

WSNA staff members and Local Unit RN leaders held the line in order to secure RN rights and flexibility.

All WSNA members in good standing will be voting to accept this on Wednesday, November 20.

Stay tuned for the time and location so that you can safeguard your rights in your workplace.

Your Local Unit Leaders recommend a "YES" vote.
